Key benefits

Receiving

Handheld operators can search and select POs by date, vendor, or number, enabling simultaneous processing of multiple POs from the same vendor. Multiple users can collaborate on the same receipt, while item receipts are tracked in real time with precise capture of serial numbers, lot numbers, and expiration dates — all improving accuracy and efficiency in receiving.

Put Away

After receiving goods, operators can choose to palletize or individually put away items, print pallet labels directly from handheld devices using on-device printers, and streamline the process by batch scanning serial or lot numbers to reduce friction and enhance efficiency.

Material Handling

The handheld device manages pallets, supports independent item and pallet transfers, offers Lot and Serial number details, facilitates physical inventory counts, handles restocking/down-stocking, manages intra and inter-warehouse transfers, and enables quick item identification via serial/lot scanning.

Pick Pack Ship

Paperless fulfillment methods, used alone or in combination, include wave/batch, zone, and UOM picking; cross-dock allocation for direct shipping; independent or integrated packing with pallet management; and shipment staging for timely carrier pickup. These approaches improve efficiency, streamline operations, and can be tailored to meet specific logistical needs.

Kensium WMS – Multi Pack

Kensium WMS identifies pre-packed inner packs with a checkbox to ensure they are added only to master packs, allows building inner packs during picking or packing via handheld devices, enables assembling inner packs into master packs (boxes or pallets), maintains inner pack and master pack details in Acumatica for future reference, and supports customer-defined labels for inner and master packs.

Kensium WMS – Shipment & Pick Optimization

Color-coded order analysis highlights shippable orders and anticipated POs, while cross-dock compares receipts with pending shipments to auto-update availability. Applying UOMs at shipment creation reduces picking effort, enables location-based separation, and uses staging to rejoin picks, preserving original SO quantities on invoices while adjusting only shipments. This enhances efficiency and accuracy across the fulfillment process.

Why Choosing the Right Warehouse Management System in Acumatica Matters

Optimize your warehouse operations with the right WMS in Acumatica. Discover how Kensium WMS enhances efficiency with advanced features like palletization, cross-docking, and smart picking strategies. Streamline inventory management, reduce costs, and scale seamlessly. Learn more today!

Frequently Asked Questions

How does integrating Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) with ERP enhance operations?

Integrating WMS with ERP boosts efficiency by automating inventory, order fulfillment, and shipping. It offers real-time stock data, minimizes errors, and optimizes space, leading to faster order processing and lower costs.

Can I customize the interface to suit my specific needs?

Yes, you can tailor the interface to your specific needs, ensuring that it aligns with your business processes and requirements for optimal efficiency.

What is Multi-Pack?

Standard Fusion Packing allows the users to just pack items into Pallets. With Fusion Multipacking feature, the packing process will have an extra layer, now the users are able to pack items into boxes (Inner Packs) and put these boxes into a pallet (Master Packs). Both container types will have a unique identifiers given the fact that both are Fusion Containers.
Also, Different UOMs of an Item (Cross-References) can be defined as Inner Packs themselves, so when the user scans any of these UOMs, the system will recognize it as a box (Inner Pack) and will be handled as such.
Use Acumatica GIs to provide a clear visualization of the state of the Containers (Master and Inner Packs) within the Shipment.

What is Optimization?

One feature of Kensium WMS Optimization is to minimize the number of items to be picked. Generally, sales orders are presented in the quantity of individual items ordered. However, items are usually stocked in various Units of Measure (UOM) in the warehouse. During Acumatica’s Create Shipment routine, Kensium WMS takes the SO quantity and, using the UOMs available, determines the minimum “things” to be picked so as to complete the Shipment. For example, if the case count for an item is 24 and the SO quantity is 100, Kensium WMS will convert the Shipment to reflect 4 cases and 4 individual items.

The Shipment line reflects the items and Order Quantity. The Line Details reflect the location, UOM, and quantity for each UOM as determined by Kensium WMS Optimization. Note the Sales Order and the ensuing invoice will reflect the same line items / quantities. Kensium WMS only affects the Shipment.

How do handheld devices improve warehouse processes such as put away, cross-docking, and material handling?

Handheld devices enhance warehouse operations by enabling efficient management of put-away and cross-docking processes. They also support seamless material handling, allowing for effective tracking and management of materials within the warehouse, which improves overall operational efficiency.

How do handheld devices assist with picking tasks and improve accuracy?

Handheld devices streamline picking tasks by offering real-time information and guidance, which facilitates pick optimization. This helps enhance picking accuracy and efficiency, leading to better order fulfillment and reduced errors.

What is Down Stocking?

Down stocking is the process of replenishing your picking bins for more effective picking by your users. Typically done in waves, customers will restock picking bins to fill them prior to optimizing their shipments. Move the product from overstock to areas where standard pickers can access the goods. You will be able to pick more shipments, accurately and more efficiently and is included in the WMS Optimization Package.

What do you mean by Pallet Management?

Kensium WMS introduces the concept of Pallet Management into Acumatica.  The term CONTAINERS is used because the functionality is not limited to pallets and may include boxes, totes, supersacks, etc. Any collection of items associated with a common ID.
Containers are generally used for inventory management and shipping. The use of containers in the shipping function is covered in the Pick, Pack & Ship pages of this manual.  This discussion will be limited to the use of containers for inventory management.
Kensium WMS defines two required locations to use containers.  Pallet Stock Location (PStock) and Pallet Ship Location (PShip).  Each is defined in the Inventory / Warehouses / Location header.
When a container is assembled for inventory management purposes, a phantom item is created and identified by a Container ID.  The items on the container a associated by with the Container ID. The items themselves are transferred to PStock where they remain so long as they are associated with the container.  The container can be moved throughout the warehouse by scanning the Container ID along with the to and from locations.
Containers and Container IDs can be created from the handheld or in advance.  For those created on advance, contents can be added later.
