Most marketing-savvy businesses rely heavily on platforms like Meta (formerly Facebook) to manage their advertising, engage with customers, and build their online presence. Meta is also a popular commerce channel for B2C ecommerce businesses to leverage lookalike audiences and increase sales from new users. When you rely on Meta for brand visibility, reputation management, and online sales, losing access can mean losing a main revenue stream.
Meta serves as a critical channel for e-commerce businesses, offering substantial benefits in revenue generation, sales growth, and brand visibility. Leveraging its tools and integrations across platforms like Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, and Shopify can significantly enhance e-commerce performance. Conversely, neglecting to utilize Facebook may result in missed opportunities and competitive disadvantages in the rapidly evolving digital marketplace.
Despite living in an age of password management services and well-known best practices, we frequently encounter businesses that have lost access to their Meta Business Manager accounts. From our experience, one of the leading causes of this access issue is staff departures or unforeseen internal changes. When a business's Meta account is tied to a specific employee, access can become complicated once that person leaves, creating stress, disruption in daily operations, halting ad campaigns, reducing revenue, and limiting administrative control.
One of the most effective ways to safeguard your business is to create an "evergreen" Meta Business Manager account—an account that isn't tied solely to a single employee but is accessible to multiple trusted team members or designated roles. This ensures your business maintains continuity and control, regardless of personnel changes.
Managing social media accounts effectively is essential for businesses to maintain their online presence and drive revenue. However, when access to these accounts is compromised, it can lead to significant disruptions, lost revenue, and operational setbacks. Kensium has successfully resolved Meta account access and security issues for three distinct clients: a B2B manufacturer, a B2B ecommerce company, and a non-profit organization. It’s important to note the recovery process is like filing a legal claim and can be incredibly time-consuming. There are incredibly detailed requirements for just submitting a request to Meta and getting your request reviewed by the proper department.
A mid-sized B2B manufacturing business faced a critical challenge when their marketing manager — the sole admin for the Meta Business Manager account — left the company without transferring administrative control. Ad campaigns were paused without anyone realizing it, causing a significant drop in sales and revenue.
For months, the company struggled to regain access, as the departed employee managed the account through a personal email and was uncooperative. Without access to essential campaign data and insights, the business development team was left in the dark, further exacerbating the revenue loss.
Solution: Kensium stepped in to resolve the issue, establishing an evergreen admin account to ensure continuous access to the Meta Business Manager account. By implementing structured access protocols, the manufacturing business regained control of their campaigns, minimizing future risks of admin lockout and securing vital marketing assets.
An international B2B ecommerce company was blindsided by a security breach that led to $10,000 per day in fraudulent ad charges. The main admin’s personal account was hacked, compromising the company’s Meta ad account. Fraudulent ads were then run, directing traffic to a single-page ecommerce clothing site, completely unrelated to the company’s primary business in professional equipment.
Solution: Kensium acted swiftly, reporting the fraudulent ads to Meta Support and working diligently to regain full control of the ad account. This included implementing advanced security measures, such as two-factor authentication, to prevent future breaches. Additionally, Kensium assisted in recovering the lost ad spend and provided guidance on monitoring ad account activity more closely to mitigate future risks.
For a non-profit organization, a seemingly routine account recovery became an eight-month ordeal. With no active billing history and no one on the team aware of who held admin access, the organization was effectively locked out of their Meta account. Efforts to relaunch paused ad campaigns were hindered by a lack of account validation data, making it impossible to verify ownership through traditional means.
Solution: Kensium launched a multi-step recovery process that included submitting three formal requests and conducting multiple calls with Meta Support. Despite the extended timeline, Kensium successfully restored account access and implemented a streamlined admin management protocol, reducing the risk of similar issues in the future.
Kensium’s expertise in Meta account recovery and security optimization has helped clients across industries mitigate risks, recover lost revenue, and maintain continuity in their digital marketing operations. If your business is facing account access challenges, reach out to Kensium today for a consultation.
Disclaimer: The following recovery steps are based on Meta’s process as of 2024. Due to frequent platform updates, specific requirements or interfaces may have changed. Always consult Meta’s latest support documentation or reach out to Kensium for the most current guidance.
To assist with this process, we’ve provided a step-by-step recovery guide below that walks you through the recovery process. Please note that Meta is always changing their process, and there is no guarantee that your account will be recovered. Additionally, if your page was deleted, if you don’t reactivate or appeal the decision within 30 days, it will be permanently deleted. If your account was hacked and fraudulent ads were placed, causing your account to be restricted, if you don’t appeal the restriction within a certain amount of time- your account will be permanently restricted or possibly even disabled. Kensium can help curate a solution to get your business active on Meta in these cases but will not be able to completely recover your account.
Simply follow the instructions on the form to initiate account recovery and get your business back on track. If you have questions or need assistance, please Contact Kensium now for a free consultation and get your business back on track—before it’s too late!
